To devils advocate here a little. It is a situation about choice. Advertizers have the right to choose not to advertise on content that covers certain topics. But also, creators have the choice to disallow these categories of ads on their content if they wish.

There is definitely room for improvement in the system. But I do find it helpful to think of these things from the other sides perspective. YouTube doesn't aim to destroy history content, they aim to manage the worlds largest video site. It's no easy task, but they're not evil.
