Combo points used to disappear if you targeted someone else or even deselected your current target.

@HistoryCrafting my husband's first toon during vanilla was a rogue. Combo points disappearing was super-frustrating
@sillermoon Yeah. They later changed CPs to disappear only if you changed target but it was still horrible. With TBC came today's mechanics.
