    1 Around 41,000 British men returned from missing 1 or more limbs. This equalled around 11,600 cases of lost arms & 29,400 of lost legs. Hospitals were set up to help them. The prostheses industry grew. As did rehabilitation opportunities. [image: TNA: MUN 7/285]
