    Tragic news this Christmas Day. Another death of a child in CBP custody? This is unacceptable. It is not ok that children are dying, that they are separated from their parents and don’t receive proper medical screenings and treatment. Congress must act. Real oversight coming 1/3.

    As an emergency physician and public health expert, I was dismayed at the lack of meaningful health screening and emergency response capacity for women and children seeking asylum at the Antelope Wells Port of Entry and Lordsburg Border Patrol Station.

    The tragic loss of Felipe Alonzo-Gomez comes just a little more than two weeks after the death of Jakelin Caal. We need answers. I join with in calling for a full Congressional investigation.

    This is gut-wrenching. Congress must exercise oversight of all facilities that house kids so we can ensure safety. I’m also waiting for an answer from this Admin on the # of those who died or been seriously injured, including sexually assaulted, in & custody.
