Rishi Sharma is a teenager who's made it his goal to interview as many WWII survivors as possible. He's interviewed over 800, and he hugs & thanks each of them for their service. What an inspiring young man. Check out his story on . (📷 Rishi)

This is my beloved grandmother who passed away 11 days ago. I can only hope I’ll have even 1% of her class.

I grew up during a time when everyone's grandfathers (and grandmothers) were WWII survivors. Most of them are gone now. It breaks my heart when I think about all these strong & brave men and women who are no longer with us.

Sadly, 400 WWII survivors die each day. We are losing the Great Generation & it's incredible that a young person cares to know and preserve their stories.

I've been focusing on family stuff this past week, but holy crap these kids in Florida marching the capitol, staging walk outs & standing up for their rights. Gives me hope for the future.

On the way to my grandma's funeral, I met a stranger who was in the process of leaving her husband. It was a strange experience & one I'll never forget.

Here's my grandma's jumpsuit I'm wearing to her memorial today. Probably 40 years old. It's a little discolored, but what the hell.

Grief is a peculiar thing. Sometimes you have a stretch of seconds or, if you're lucky, minutes where you forget that you're in remarkable pain. Then you remember the person you love is gone, and it hits you like freight train.

I found a sparkly caramel-colored v-neck jumpsuit from the 1970s in my grandma’s closet and I’m going to wear it to her service tomorrow. With giant hoop earrings. I think she would have approved.

The other day I met a crying stranger in the bathroom. I too was crying. She told me her story. And I told her mine.

Hospital: We are so sorry your mother passed away. My mom: Thank you so much. Hospital: She was a wonderful woman. Mom: Thank you. Hospital: By the way, I think when you picked up her belongings, someone else's dentures were in the pile. Would you mind bringing them back?

I’m finally able to look at pictures of my grandma. Mom and I are going through photos for the memorial, and I came across this photo from my grandma’s birthday party sometime in the 1930s. I’d recognize that sweet face anywhere.

I'm writing my grandma's obituary. It's a very surreal experience. At least my mother is letting me make it informal. "She was known for her ability to rock an outfit and strut like nobody’s business..."

My very amazing friend Kate adopted as a single mother. I love her, I love her daughter & they have quite the amazing story. I highly recommend checking out her blog.
