This is very cool! Single neurons can compute way more than we thought was possible. Time to revise the textbook dogma that action potentials are always all-or-none....

What an amazing achievement by DLab student Raina Angdias who won the ACNS award for best honours presentation this year! - here with her co-supervisor (and former winner of this award) Well done!!!

Great new paper in showing how the neural correlates of your experience of a visual illusion (i.e., "How it looks to you") are way beyond visual cortex. Very important result for lots of different theories on awareness and consciousness

Pushing the envelope of what we can do with EEG decoding - our awesome PhD student showing off real-time decoding of the position of a smoothly moving object! Very nice work Philippa!

TimingLab legend Sidney at showing some very cool results: the high-phi illusion affects both perceived motion AND position - but at different timescales!

Cool! Dominic Tran at showing that expectation reduces TMS-evoked EMG depending on the hazard function, just like our recent work with the flash-grab effect in vision... ()

This looks totally handy - it's an ongoing frustration that you lose temporal resolution by binning, but without it, everything looks a mess - will definitely try this next time!

Very clever work indeed by - using RDM's to link timepoints in EEG sequences to fMRI regions. What an incredible idea!

Talented TimingLab student Lysha explaining her excellent honours work at (showing that the flash-lag effect depends on perceived, rather than physical speed). Great work Lysha!

Excited be at held in stunningly beautiful Launceston! If you are there too, then drop in for my talk on Friday afternoon. Featuring some critical examination of how predictions are implemented in the visual system, and some sage advice from my grandmother

So for the last 5-6 years I've been working on a new class of small footprint MRI that could go in doctor's offices (without NIH funding he adds bitterly - submitted the grant 5 times and it was always rejected with "too high risk"). Well it works baby. Got signal last night! 😃
