We actually don’t know that for sure. Wholesalers would still execute a ton of volume. And you could argue that what they wouldn’t anymore would end up on exchange, tightening public spreads. Hard to tell without odd lots in 605s. I think current structure is fine

Sure, but I’ve personally been in dozens of meetings over the years where exchange executives pushed for “trade at”. The difference now is that all the major exchanges are run by executives who understand market structure and the damage that would do.
