There's one thing that separates @SBF_FTX from other successful crypto traders. It's not his Jane Street experience. It's not his MIT education. It's his worldview. Here's why SBF's maniacal focus on effective altruism will keep him at the top of crypto for years to come:pic.twitter.com/ARf9wG9A7y

Effective altruism is the attempt to maximize one's contribution to the world. Our resources - energy, relationships, and time - are all limited. How can we leverage these things to do the most good in the world? This is the question SBF pondered while studying physics at MIT.pic.twitter.com/pEcTYEmcXI

SBF's ultimate answer was to leverage his time to make as much money as possible during his life, to then turn around and give it all away. Where can you make more money than just about any other profession on earth? Quantitative finance. This led SBF to Jane Street Capital.

After a few years SBF quit Jane Street. He again faced the question - how do I maximize my world contribution? He took a non-profit job but decided to leave shortly after joining. His rationale - "Is it better to work for the charity or give millions to the charity?"

With a renewed focus on trading SBF decided to start Alameda Research with a few friends from MIT. He believed the profit opportunity in crypto beat every other option & maximized his resource potential. The fact that he's still in the space says volumes about crypto's future.

As we all know by now, SBF went on to become a crypto billionaire many times over. In spite of his incredible success, SBF still works non-stop & sleeps on a bean bag chair next to his desk. Why? A fanatic drive around effective altruism.pic.twitter.com/LmHvkzMmk9

SBF isn't driven by personal wealth. He said it best on a recent Chat with Traders podcast: "Personal happiness from wealth doesn't scale. GLOBAL happiness from distributing wealth does."https://open.spotify.com/episode/78xgDbAT3zqqvezQ7hFKF1 …

More than just its founder's life framework, effective altruism is becoming a big advantage for Alameda Research. Employees are driven by profits for themselves AND Sam's greater altruistic mission. It keeps the firm hungry & is a big point of separation from competitors.

After diving into SBF's worldview I've gained a ton of respect for him & his operation. I think his laser focus on maximizing wealth to give it all away will keep him in the crypto game for decades to come.
