If I wanted to launch a Robinhood killer, I'd focus all my efforts on emulating their app/UI and offer free stock in my brokerage in exchange for signing up/trading a certain amount. I'd be the Sushiswap of retail equity brokers.

Except the SEC won’t let you since most of your clients won’t be accredited… If that angers you, it should. The accredited investor rule essentially creates a barrier that protects rich person access to superior investments.
