He must mean philosophically. Because, literally, bitcoin is open source and can quite easily be functionally duplicated.

It’s really not Bitcoin but the blockchain that makes it happen and that’s where the value is. Making BTC a currency doesn’t seem more than a fantasy but your house deed, car title, COVID-19 vax cert, all can be on blockchain for practical, useful reasons
