Not sure if you have any thoughts on this but I think Coinbase is pretty unique in that on top of being the primary exchange for a new asset class, they are one of the biggest investors in startups/projects in DeFi.

And wondering if any traditional exchanges in history have had this kind of start, profiting off trading activity in the asset class as well as being primary investors in the financial infrastructure behind it.
