      I just realized the irony... Lee Olesky launched BrokerTec in 1999 to challenge a then-dominant UST trading platform, eSpeed. Now as Tradeweb CEO, Olesky just bought eSpeed to take on the now-dominant UST platform, BrokerTec.pic.twitter.com/lZ5lvQW4ND

      Jim Toffey founded TradeWeb and earlier than 99 I think. And had nothing to do with eSpeed as eSpeed was interdealer and tradeweb was dealer to client. But other than that ... :-)

          Lee was behind the scenes at TradeWeb till Jim left and then lee took over. It was the Jim show for a long time. BrokerTec was a response to eSpeed and was an IDB
