When you add in benchmarked assets (assets in funds where performance is compared to the index) the number goes up to $11.2 trillion:pic.twitter.com/25XwzFM6sl

Can you please explain what this means?

"indexed" assets means the amount of $ in a fund that specifically tracks the S&P 500 (ie $SPY)
"benchmarked" means the amount of $ in funds that use the S&P 500 as their performance benchmark (ie many hedge funds that want to beat the market)
let me know if that helps.
