Why is $CME's well publicized Nasdaq volatility future not trading?
Because it's not different enough from the classic VIX.
Traders can hedge Nasdaq vol by proxy with the VIX which is already liquid and cheap to trade.

Problem with buying CBOE is that it comes with BATS....nobody wants or likes the cash equities biz.
