Imho not really. ICE? Nope (ellie mae, antitrust) NDAQ? Nope (antitrust) LSE? Nope (refinitiv) ENX? Nope (borsa italiana) DB1? Nope (antitrust) CME? Maybe, but nope (NEX) Only options are maybe Bloomberg or a PE firm. Not worth buying on M&A hopes alone
@NoonSixCap who would buy CBOE outside of the above?
I'd have TMX on the long-shot list and generally not exclude possibility of more creative deal. Not sure why DB1 gets kicked out for reg reasons...CME/NEX seems pretty far along too.
(pre-emptive cc @BagholderQuotes on my behalf)
DB1 is out for me bc of Xetra and they tried to buy NYSE way back when and got slapped away. CME doesn’t want cash equities imo but its in theory possible.
I don't think the NYSE 'precedent' is relevant here
Dont get me wrong, if DB1 takes out CBOE at a nice premium I’d be happy. For now we batten down the hatches and pray the long night ends soon...pic.twitter.com/IWMypakLf5
