Yesterday Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D., was in the #RGV to announce the GLO awarded $43 million in disaster recovery funds for 44 federally eligible infrastructure projects to help communities recover from the 2019 South Texas Floods and Tropical Storm Imelda.
Critical Fire Weather conditions are possible today. Any fires that start would spread rapidly in areas where the combination of wind, low humidity, and dry fuels are sufficient.

More than 2,200 attendees took part in the 2023 South Texas All Hazards Conference held at the McAllen Convention Center. They learned valuable preparedness information from more than 80 experts and spoke with a variety of vendors about emergency management services.
One death related to COVID-19 reported in Hidalgo County along with 397 newly reported positive cases.
