Yesterday, @BernieSanders declared in a campaign address that “democratic socialism is the only way.”
I have great respect for @BernieSanders. He has provided great clarity and urgency around the major issues facing working families.
But I fundamentally disagree.

We also partnered with a private foundation to make long-acting reversible contraception (“LARC”) affordable to ALL women in CO, starting at age 15. The program:
reduced teen pregnancy rate by 54%
reduced teen abortion rate by 64%
saved taxpayers $70 million over 5 yearsShow this thread -
We went to the state legislature to get permanent funding to support the program. Some Republicans refused. CO foundations helped fund it that year, and we continued our dialogue with Republicans. The next year, the program’s funding passed with bipartisan support.

You don’t have near universal coverage. You’re bastardizing the term. People are still paying a shit ton for premiums, deductibles, copayments, out of pocket costs.

Near universal healthcare.. how nice. So for those who don’t have healthcare, are they collateral damage so that insurance execs and shareholders can continue to profit off the misery of others?

65% of people in Colorado received subsidized healthcare you big socialist. CO healthcare only works with socialized healthcare costs, yet you still have a ton of struggling families and bankruptcies (28th in 2019 bankruptcies per capita).
