I should also add that they hired an autistic actor to play Music (main character) at first. They wanted set abominations to make it less overwhelming. Sia, an actual billionaire, decided to fire them instead of making the minimal changes needed.
It seems evident through context in this 11 sec. clip alone that the interviewer was saying "(people often say things like...) might as well be inanimate objects, like a wig. Except (that's not true) there's so much going on in there" and Sia nodded in agreement to that
Not defending her but seeing people misinterpret things because they couldn't take 2 more seconds to see context really bothers me as lack of reading / listening comprehension generates so much misinformation all the time.

Did you not hear the other half of the sentence, where she says, “Except that’s not the case. They have a lot going on in there.” Perhaps she could’ve worded herself better, but she didn’t compare non-verbal people to to wigs.
you can think sia is an awful person without insulting her looks! her appearance has nothing to do with her infantilization and disparagement of autistic people
