I've tweeted for many years about how awful Richard "RMS" Stallman is - the pedophilia, the ableism, the misogyny. Inevitably, each time I do, dudes examine my receipts & then say "all those incidents are from years ago! he's changed now!" NOPE.https://medium.com/@selamie/remove-richard-stallman-fec6ec210794 …

It's cool. We still love Stallman. He has many flaws, but no one follows him for his awful opinions. He is a valuable actor in the software world and that won't change even if he kill someone in cold blood.

It would be a tragedy, but even that won't delete his work, or his history of advocate to the free software movement. Even in this ridiculous cancel culture of today.

Cold-blooded murder sure wouldn't cancel his past contributions, but we would certainly need to cancel him going forward in that case, I hope you realize he would no longer be a "valuable actor", then. Failing to do so would establish the kind of precedent we simply can't afford.

You sound like a reasonable person ; don't worry, supporting him murdering people is just an hyperbole to trigger dumb SJWs. (but can you imagine if the murder victim is Trump?!) Still, they condem RMS for opinions, and this is just petty and dumb. Like

Well, certain public opinions can be harmful too, especially if broadcasted from a place of power.
