Sky also uses most of the same infrastructure - they are all using phone lines - sky just has some of its own kit in the exchanges. Virgin normally uses cable door-to-door.

Used Sky in the past with few problems apart from Netflix buffering. Virgin currently but not on your list.

+1 for http://plus.net . Good service/speeds at a decent price. Just don’t use their router because it sucks (as does BT’s and Skys and ... oh, why can’t ISP’s just provide decent routers?)
