It doesn't matter what department the people who get laid off come from. Everyone at ArenaNet is a valued member of this industry and was essential to the success of the titles we've released. For those who are hoping it "was just support teams" please stop. We all matter.

I cannot fathom the lack of empathy which comes from a statement like that right now. I'm so sorry everyone at ArenaNet has to deal with shitty posts on the internet as well as everything else.

I think it moreso comes from a lack of understanding. People who dont work in games hold the "Dev team" in such high regard because we "create".What they don't realize though is that without these "support teams" they wouldn't even know these games exist/consider them worthwhile.
