Amazing how many people have credulously fallen for @missmayim's attempt to memory hole her previous antivaccine stylings by doing a video last fall saying she'd get #CovidVaccine and then bragging about how she got it when she finally did. Actually, no, it's not amazing.https://twitter.com/gorskon/status/1425511660874178568 …

WTF, @jeopardy? This is in a way almost worse than the first deal. So now, on the one hand, you have a man with a history of misogyny hosting part of the time. On the other hand, you have an antivaxxer and supplement hawker @missmayim hosting the rest.🙄🤦🏻‍♂️ https://www.washingtonpost.com/arts-entertainment/2021/08/11/jeopardy-guest-hosts-ranked/ …

In any event, Bialik hasn't really changed, at least not much. She still spews antivax talking points but has just decided that she thinks #CovidVaccine is OK because of how bad #COVID19 is.https://youtu.be/5MY0Mzq3mhs

For a reminder, this is the sort of antivax nonsense she was spewing in 2012. What she says in the video in the previous Tweet is not materially much different, if different at all, just "kinder, gentler" and more canny.https://respectfulinsolence.com/2012/02/21/say-it-aint-so-amy-farrah-fowler/ …

Then there's the highly annoying "iT'S jUst A gaMe shOw!" response. They might have a point if this were @WheelofFortune and not @Jeopardy. Me, I prefer my Jeopardy! hosts not to have a history of antivax utterances and hawking brain health" supplements. https://twitter.com/steve_magruder/status/1425525666230018050?s=20 …

Frankly, the idea that someone's beliefs should disqualify them from a job, unless it is something truly hateful like Nazism, is bizarre to me.

That's not true. If your pilot seriously believed prayer lands planes and is anxious to prove it, you wouldn't fly on it. Rocket scientists that believe in flat earth, geologists that believe in young earth, you'd have issues with all of them.

What an absurd comment. Surely you wouldn't expect NASA to hire flat-earthers. Beliefs are often entirely valid reasons to deny employment--especially when those beliefs are dead wrong. Only certain beliefs are legally protected from employment discrimination, & for good reason.

When your job is attracting and maintaining an audience, all sorts of things can be relevant. If she believes that dog ownership is slavery and dog owners don't enjoy tuning in for a half hour as a result, well....

You must have a very limited imagination. How about a mathematics instructor who believes that "0=1"? A surgeon who believes that one should not wash hands before operating? A pilot who believes a jet plane can fly without fuel?

For an analogy: I hope someone’s belief that it’s ok to smoke pot in the operating room doesn’t get them disqualified from a job in the hospital!🤡😂
