Hey @TeamYouTube here's an idea. Why not have the real-time subscriber count reflect the highest subscriber count that channel ever obtained in real-time. That way, if it goes down, the cancel culture mob can't use it as a means to see their "downfall".

But that doesn't "fix" the "issue" of the thousands of endless livestreams making money by watching a number go up.

That's hardly an issue. Plus, even if there are thousands of them, I would wager that 95%+ of them get like 10 viewers at most, which would mean over it's entire lifetime, the stream would make like under a dollar lol.

I don't disagree, though I can't imagine it's good for YT's servers to have all of those month long streams active at once. Oh and just to be clear, I think this whole thing is stupid because those streams are fun, I'm just trying to see it from their perspective.

There's probably thousands of other streams that you can't even find if you search for them that are running 24/7. Security, traffic, building, and wildlife cameras. It's the same issue, and I'd bet there are a LOT more of those.

Honestly, I don't know what Youtube thinks they're solving with this change. Do youtubers at least have access to their own live numbers?
