I got like an 06' HP Photosmart printer. It worked for years until they quit selling ink for it -_-

eh, not true. I don’t think OP understands what he signed up for. Instant Ink is awesome and saves people a lot of money and hassle of going out and buying cartridges.
I wasn't talking about Instant Ink, i was talking about the world of printer ink in general
It is 2020 now, I can't believed no one at start-ups or Silicon Valley have already tried to disrupt this?

Someone at some point dismantled some ink cartridges from major brands that were coming up as empty in the printer in some cases had almost a quarter of the cart left
