you dont need to ask veterans, and you dont need to forcibly put yourself into an archetype/playstyle. you know yourself best - just watch some footage and get inspired!!

On the subject of character choice when trying to pick up UNI, never forget the classic: watch high level match footage until you get inspired by a character. The easiest way to stay motivated in any fg is that moment when you say "damn that char is so sick, I wanna do that"

Lastly, while I understand that hydegaming on YouTube is the easiest source of UNI for lazy people, that channel steals JP footage then actively FLAGS the source videos in order to preserve monetization. It is an actively malicious channel that I do not condone supporting at all.
