For @themandalorian, they hired an actual Deaf actor to play one of the Tusken raiders and help create Tusken Sign Language. 😍 They did this bc a hearing person who knew ASL suggested it. It’s our responsibility, when we’re in the room, to look around and see who’s missing.pic.twitter.com/UwzLi9x9cp

Two Tusken Raiders stand in the desert on Tattooine. Both are dressed in burlap-looking clothes and gloves to protect them from sandstorms. Their faces and heads are fully covered by the same fabric, and the openings for their eyes and mouth are scary-looking. The one on the left holds a pointy weapon. The one on the right is using sign language to converse with someone offscreen and has a weapon strapped to their back.

That’s awesome. Really added a true realistic element to the performances.

Using your access and ability to give power to other people is anything but vanity. I'm truly sorry that you see inclusion and good storytelling as politically offensive.

And the language came off as so realistic and natural... another proof that genuine diversity makes movies/TV BETTER! 👍
