I want to thank
@PhilaSheriff for supporting this resolution and to my co-sponsors on Council. Miami, San Francisco and other cities have already announced actions, and many others are considering action.Show this thread -
I also want to thank my colleague
@kendraforphilly for introducing a complementary resolution demanding a broader protection plan for healthcare and service workers. There will be more to do.Show this thread -
It is a disgrace that our president peddles in untruths and hate to mask the gross incompetence of his administration that has now put millions at risk. His xenophobia and anti-Asian hate are appalling. But more than ever, cities will stand up for our people.

Our public health is only as good as the health of those most vulnerable, least economically secure, and least covered by our social services. We will do everything we can to ensure the safety of all our residents as well as the public health.
