Looking from slopes of Gheralta Mountains across Tigray landscape. The photo was taken during my unforgettable visit to the area in 2019 when it was at peace. Now the area has been devastated by war. Across Tigray, there is great loss of life, many allegations of rape and other sexual and gender-based violence, severe food shortages, and widespread destruction of crops, churches, and other community assets, including health centres. This war must stop. Many have called for withdrawal of Eritrean troops and Amhara militia.
