I'm fascinated by how impressed Peterson's followers are by his self-help advice for young men: stand up straight, clean your room, stop moping, be neat and orderly and work toward your goals. It's archetypal "mom-speak," although then it's called "nagging."

The NYT even gets a quote from a fan - "nobody told me to clean my room before except my mom." But she doesn't get credit for it, of course. Nothing makes me angrier about Peterson than the fact that he seems to prove Freud right about everything.
