Maybe we should just rename the Intellectual Dark Web: "Everybody who is no longer on the Twitter-approved ice floe."

So you're on the pro-shun side. Please elaborate: should we also never respond to her on Twitter? Can we talk to her in person, or should we keep our eyes averted in public?

I guess I'm tainted by default for suggesting that it might be ok to link to something she wrote unrelated to the original sin. Quick, shun and block me before they get you too!

Flip this around: we have to sit around and be cool with a wide-eyed conspiracy racist just because There's Only Second Acts in the punditry world?

      1) I honestly don't understand this tweet. And 2) I have no particular need to defend SAL or her conspiracy theories. I'm pointing out that trying to tar someone for merely linking to something SAL wrote, totally unrelated to that conspiracy, is sorta nuts.

I think the point of the initial tweet was that her having a job at a major paper despite the Obama conspiracy stuff is evidence of white privilege, which she’s arguing isn’t a thing.

Exactly. I thought the point was fairly obvious but only Paul seems to have picked it up.

Feels like something Wes Anderson could turn into an stop-motion animated feature.

You would need a lot of vintage filters to make Cape Breton look jovial enough for a Wes Anderson film.
