9. Sex work already in societies that also produce incels. Yet on their messageboards, incels often denigrate sex workers rather than see them as a solution. Why? Because incels don't want sex: they want status of having conventionally beautiful girlfriend/wife.

12. I'll leave it to experts in therapy & deradicalization to figure out if there is some way to talk them out of their position. More broadly, anti-misogyny eduction might stop some from going down that path.

Aren't you just making a general assumption here or - more narrowly - jumping to a generalization from a small data point? I mean, ofc it's a status question too....we want to be loved etc and sex is just another part of that...

but usually the core is still just a problem with normal social interaction or social success, if you will, everything else just builds from that foundation of desperation.
