Williamson is willing to accept large numbers of abortion for foreseeable future, because total ban is "50- or even 100-year project." In other words, he's pro-life after we are all dead. But thinks abortion is worse than regular murder. That's not a coherent position.

Did those who worked slowly and incrementally for the abolition of slavery over decades hold an incoherent position?

You might want to google "American Civil War" if you think slavery ended slowly and incrementally.

Oh come on. That's a non sequitur. My point is many worked for decades to end slavery without resorting to killing slave owners and burning down plantations. Were they hypocrites? Would you respect Kevin Williamson if he advocated kidnapping pregnant women to save their babies?

Abolitionists took direct action against slavery (underground railroad) that involved breaking the law. Which is what you would do if you think something is a great moral evil. And of course there were slave revolts.

Right. And at times pro-lifers have tried to prevent women from entering abortion clinics and they've been treated like terrorists. Do you respect them for the intellectual consistency?

If you believe abortion is murder, then becoming a terrorist is logically consistent, yes. But since very few pro-lifers become terrorists, that shows very few actually believe own rhetoric.

You say Kissinger was a "war criminal" - would a US version of Operation Valkyrie against Hitler in the 1940s been justified to stop him?https://twitter.com/HeerJeet/status/698003970430758912 …

We have laws against war crimes, so I'd want Kissinger to be arrested, as Pinochet was.

Wait... it just occurred to me. You would work within existing law. Just like Kevin Williamson. But obviously most disagree with you that existing laws make Kissinger a war criminal. Just like most disagree with Williamson that abortion is just like regular murder.

Depends on the jurisdiction. I think if Kissinger tried to travel to Europe or South America, he'd probably be arrested (I think State dept. has warned him of this).

"Depends on the jurisdiction" doesn't square with your argument that if you believe something is morally important enough you should abandon all legal constraints.
