It's possible to believe that 1) you shouldn't be mean to people but frame arguments in best intellectual terms & 2) being mean isn't a form of oppression. Those are compatible ideas.

This was my 1st thought upon seeing that tweet: He's lumping in someone who's been fired for outlandishly vile calls to execute women w/ ppl who've, you know, been criticized for things they've said. B/c for modern snowflake conservatives in the US, debate is anti-free speech. /1

I actually agree that being too quick to accuse or imply that others are sexist, racist, etc., can have a chilling effect on conversation that's not conducive to a healthy public discourse. But, absolutely, let's not pretend these ppl are victims. /2
