Somebody needs to do a take on "the writers" and the craziness of insisting on history as narrative.

Time unfolding is not a narrative. The narration of time unfolding obviously is. But that narration can have more or less imposition of "plot" logic.

The unfolding of time is not "history" it's "life" or "existence." History is the reconstruction of past unfoldings, which is inevitably in the form or narrative.
