For better principles: Adam Smith’s “Theory of the Moral Sentiments” and Thomas Reid’s “Common Sense”. These, with writings of Thomas Paine (not an enlightenment figure) are the most consistent writings, escaping Locke’s dishonesty, Hume & Kant’s mad theory of knowledge breaches!
