9. The GOP might suffer politically, a few underlings might do jailtime before pardons, but we have to prepare for the possibility that Trump will never face a real reckoning. That's the American way.

The average American was not subject to torture, so the horror was strong but not *personal*. I honestly feel that having Trump as president has taken a year off my life. No joke. I imagine I am not alone in this. Things that happen to dictators after they fall is more like it.
