No. It is simpler than that. He interjected himself into the election. If he had misgivings about the Attorney General in 2016 or the President in 2017, he could have resigned. Instead, he chose to serve himself while covering himself in a sanctimonious mantle.

Comey played politics from the outset. As much as I believe that Clinton should have been indicted for the Server Scandal, I also believe Comey had no business denouncing her at the press conference. Or not resigning when he felt uncomfortable with Trump.
