I was talking to a relative, an in-law who has lived in Russia & knows Russian, about "Death of Stalin." He loved movie but also came up with a bizarre pro-Beria argument.

According to my in-law Beria was of course a monster but he had better policy ideas than Khrushchev. I was genuinely dumbstruck. Not everyday you hear a pro-Beria argument.

Anyways, the argument was that Beria was a pro-market reformer. Like I said, I was dumbstruck.
