This is absurd. Hitchens was an internationalist. His brand of internationalism moved from Marxism to something compatible with The Weekly Standard, but the underlying impulse stayed in place. He was for Ralph Nader. Iraq and 9-11 drove him nuts, but he would have enjoyed the way Sanders tormented Hillary and the Matt Yglesias types. He still had sympathies for democratic socialists.
