I've made this point for different reasons, to show that Mill was a shallow thinker. "Economic privilege" is an embarrassingly imprecise term. No, he was shallow for the very reasons he stated. The real shallow ones are socialists, who think somehow that some elite group of humans are going to manage the rest of humanity, and do it better than individual humans will.
