I suspect if you tried to pin down Williamson he might wiggle out of his position ("well, I don't like capital punishment"). But his repeated remarks indicate something deeper than a policy goal: a visceral desire to punish women.

I would respect Williamson's defenders more if they just said: "Yeah, he's repeatedly advocated for hanging women, and that's precisely why he was hired and why we support him against the voice of reason or compassion."
