It is about as common for faculty to be fired or subject to death threats after having Fox News or Breitbart target them as it is for left-wing student protests to disrupt or prevent a campus speaking event.

I did count at one point for an earlier round of this endless debate— think I checked 2016 and ‘17. Used the FIRE database for campus speeches and debates (and their measure of the ideological direction of the protest), and counted cases covered by the Chronicle of faculty cases.

Threats against faculty could be verified if journalists were interested in covering them (could ask to see evidence). But there is no cottage industry for such coverage, as there is for PC hysteria.
