I just read that NY Times article through. Some of it is pure trash. The patriarchal bias is so strong that they overlooked some key research studies.

I’m looking through the original paper now and it’s quickly apparent why they didn’t find similar racial disparities among women. The answer comes down to patriarchy.

There are so many conflated and omitted factors in this study that we really can’t make sense of it.

One is they’re looking at household income, not individual income. Patriarchy demands that women from wealthy families marry wealthy men, regardless of race. Many of these women may not be in the labor market. So the data tell us less about them than it does about their husbands.
