Imagine if a white #settler reporter tells a well respected Indigenous scholar/professor he has no idea on the background of colonialism...
If we can’t figure this out in Canada
in spite of our professed shared value for #multiculturalism, where does that leave us? #peacehttps://twitter.com/terryglavin/status/975154327676370944 …

I was not aware that
@HeerJeet was a well respected scholar/professor. I was not referring to some "background of colonialism" but to a background to a days-old series of passive-aggressive tweets I decided not to respond to. You're welcome.2 replies 0 retweets 6 likes -

Thank you
@TerryGlavin of@OttawaCitizen for your respectful reply. The way Twitter thread displayed the messages made me think you were referring to@SikhProf. Thx for clarification. You’re welcomed too.2 replies 0 retweets 2 likes -

In fact, Terry was very dismissive of
@sikhprof and basically telling him to go away. When I suggested to Terry that he engage with@sikhprof he told me to go away. Not a good look.3 replies 2 retweets 3 likes -

I have no expertise on this subject, nor do I have any interest in getting involved in this debate. But, I do care to live in a
that encourages us to learn the shared humanities of the many cultures that exist within our national boundary. Our world needs it desperately now.pic.twitter.com/1lZnT0iXHX

I care to live in that kind of Canada too. That's why I've written several books about, or touch upon, colonialism, indigenous rights, etc. In any case the subject at hand was about Amritsar in 1984. I was there at the time, filing to the Globe and Mail. I needed no lectures.

I don't see @SikhProf or your others as "lecturing" you. They are trying to engage with you. I'd encourage you to engage them.
