“Centrist” is becoming the new “neoliberal.”

We're all fairly cohesive except for the Berners who I would call left of progressive.

I don't think "centrist" (a positionality) is a meaningful description of mainstream Democrats' ideology. "Liberal" is much closer.
-
Also, from who to who describes the Democratic "mainstream"?

What group are you talking about? Who's in it? How is it defined? What are their policy positions on various issues? You're just flinging around labels for people who disagree with you.

All the varied other terms, qualifiers & descriptors are too goddam vacuous. We’re Democrats.

That's the thing. I'm a "centrist" who supports UBI. Trust me, that's not in the center of American politics.

There is already a term - Blue Dogs. You guys don't use it b/c the people who are blue dogs self-identify and thus it can't be used as an insult. "Centrist" is a term used to slime people who are sufficiently deferential to the Bern.
