Yes, but I don't think people celebrate the individuals as much as they celebrate the philosophy. These individuals are products of their era in history. I'd rather focus on how the adoption of classical liberal ideals resulted in unprecedented human flourishing.

There many good proxies and heuristics for the conservative/liberal divide: process/outcome, Republican/democrat, libertarianism/anti-discrimination (pro-equality) etc..,but the undeniable and indefatigable one is simple/complex. I can’t conceive of the fix or that.
