1. If Jordan Peterson does resemble an outsider artist it is not the great & wonderful Henry Darger but the embittered Dave Sim, creator of Cerebus the Aardvark.https://twitter.com/willmenaker/status/965633591559454720 …

3. Cerebus the Aardvark can briefly be described as a funny animal Conan the Barbarian parody which becomes a political satire increasingly inflected with misogyny after Sim divorced his wife & gave up sex (in 1997) & created his own religion.
4. Sim's religion, which increasingly dominates the last third of his 6,000 page opus, is a synthesis of Judaism, Christianity & Islam (Sim believing he's the only person to ever properly read the Hebrew Bible, the New Testament & the Koran).
5. Part of Sim's religion is belief in absolute difference between men (associated with creativity & light) and women (creatures of "the void").pic.twitter.com/d1mzzS4Iyk
6. Sim, like Peterson, draws his gender mythology from the dankier & stupider part of German romanticism (mediated, in Peterson's case from Carl Jung, in Sim's case from masonry).pic.twitter.com/m8O0MTeupS
7. Sim also has a Patreon account & lapdog cult following (smaller than Peterson). He also likes to rail at Cultural Marxists & feminists without actually understanding who they are or anything about their ideas.
8. Sim is also a Canadian! The mystery is why Peterson is so much more successful than Sim. I mean, they are the same guy except Sim draws a better aardvark.
9. My working theory of Sim is he couldn't make any relationship work because women he married/dated wanted to have emotional connection but he devoted all his passion for aardvark comic book. So he invented religion to explain why women inferior.
11. The big question is why are Canadians so attracted to Jungian archetypes: Davies, Frye, Peterson, Sim and (although more skeptical) Atwood.
I liked the High Society arc, and a bit of the pope arc. By the time it got to more shouty words than comic, I gave up.
Guys is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. The only product that nails the blackout drunk life experience.
