2. Remember this line from All The President's Men: "The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand" -- that was true of Nixon White House & true here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enyM_htgeWM …

3. Key here is Trump's management style: he likes to set up rival fiefdoms of loyalists competing for his approval by independently doing him favors (shutting up a porn star here, making a deal the the Russians there).

4. So not a grand conspiracy but a businessman candidate who mutters, "who will get Russian deals for my empire?" And his sons & cronies compete please the old man.

5. So: not a centralized conspiracy with Trump giving orders, but rather him overseeing tacit agenda. And when FBI closes in, he doesn't know what happened but knows he doesn't want it public, so he obstructs.

6. The unknown unknown, and the reason why some of
@blakehounshell's skepticism is in order, is will evidence of Trump obstruction of justice tied with other bad behavior of his underlings be enough to spark impeachment.Show this thread -
7. But where
@blakehounshell's skepticism is off base is in ignoring 1) fact Mueller still ongoing & 2) just how bad what we already know is. As here:https://twitter.com/ObsoleteDogma/status/965458692748599296 …Show this thread -
8. So far we have one campaign advisor, one NSA, one deputy campaign manager plead guilty & one campaign manager arrested. That's a big scandal.

9. The whole idea of "smoking gun" is a wrong metaphor. We're dealing with a pointillist painting made of a thousand different facts. But the painting isn't yet complete, so no gestalt. But picture forming looks very corrupt.

I am dubious about "collusion" because it would have been redundant--a needless risk. I am NOT dubious that Putin successfully compromised Trump, thus worked to get him elected so he'd have an agent in the WH who could be controlled, thru kompromat about money-laundering, etc.

if in 2014, I had described the Trump tower meeting & preceeding e-mails (without inventing names) and asked "would you call this 'collusion'" what would you say ?
