I think this guy is arguing that Romney /does/ have similar politics to Obama... in that he’s been vocally anti-Trump. This bizarro universe is really something.

Deace is questioning whether Romney and he really share political values. He is rebutting the argument that they must share political values because of Romney's family life.
So he rebuts that by saying these characteristics are not sufficient, but if he supported Trump then he is kind of also saying they aren’t necessary.
He refers to Romney as liberal, which suggests that in the tweeter's eyes his politics are just like Obama's.
aside from LGBT and women’s rights issues, they are fairly similar. Neither wants to decriminalize drugs, both wanted to look firm on immigration (ICE under Obama deported more than prev admins), both cool with pipelines through wherever for $$ They’re different but not that much
