That's not what either I or John are saying. What I would say is National Review should grapple with this history more (as, I think, TNR has tried to do with its own history).

Perhaps. On the other hand, to what extent is person B responsible for ideas promulgated by person A 30 or 40 or 60 years ago just because A and B have received payment from the same entity?
